The Bible app YouVersion offers a free bible experience.

I Do This Every Day…

Hi friends,

For several years now, I have been using the YouVersion Bible app on my phone each morning as I get ready for the day. It has helped me stay consistent even when the feeling wasn’t there. On top of that, I’ve learned new things, grown in my walk with Christ, and shared challenging plan topics with friends. If you’re overwhelmed by the thought of one more thing on your plate, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised how little effort this takes. But the rewards are great!

The app is user friendly and has a lot to offer:

  • Daily scripture with guided prompts to help you dig deep
  • Community space to connect with, encourage, and even challenge your friends
  • The actual Bible, in numerous translations to choose from. I love to have it read to me while doing my makeup 😊 I also love to highlight verses and note them if something stands out to me.
  • Plans: search by topic, author, format (video, text, audio, etc.)
  • A lot more, like a space to record your heartfelt prayers to God and an images space where you can create verse images

I am not an affiliate or anything; I just really love this app and encourage you to check it out I your app store. Did I mention that it’s FREE?

There are so many plans to choose from on the app. I thought I’d share some of my favorites since the accident that took our 17-year-old son’s life in 2015. Keep in mind that many of these folks have several good plans on here; these are just ones I picked:

  • “Hope after trauma” by Levi Lusko
  • “God, where are you?” by John Bevere
  • “The invisible war” by Daily Hope
  • “Killing kryptonite” by John Bevere
  • “Bible Project: The Bible” by The Bible Project (Note: I love all their video series!)
  • “Awaken” by Priscilla Shirer
  • “10,000 Reasons” by Matt Redmon
  • “All things new” by John Eldredge
  • “Fierce hearted: Live Fully, Love Bravely” by Holley Gerth
  • “Calming Anger” by Joel Malm
  • “Fierce marriage” by Ryan & Selena Frederick
  • “Who controls your thoughts?” by Tony Evans
  • “When God says no” by Barbour Publishing
  • “Real Life Devotions” by Lysa TerKeurst
  • “Christmas Worship Devotions” by Paul Baloche
  • “Paul Tripp’s Daily Thanksgiving Devotional” by Paul Tripp
  • “Seen: Healing Despair and Anxiety Through Connection” by Will Hutcherson & Chinwe Williams, PhD
  • “The Comeback: It’s Not Too Late & You’re Never Too Far” by Louie Giglio

I’d love to hear if you have any more to add to the list or what you think after you complete some of these simple plans. Be sure to comment below!

Remember, hope is available!

Jenny
